CIVIL ENGINEERING INTERNSHIP

As the successful hire, you will gain experience designing commercial, mixed-use, big box, institutional and residential projects. Individuals must possess a strong technical education, a professional demeanor, and a desire to learn and be part of a team environment.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Provide administrative engineering support during design, permitting, development, and construction for various land development projects;

Utilize and develop technical skills in stormwater management, grading & drainage design, sanitary & roadway profiles, site planning & conceptual site layouts, zoning ordinance review and research, lighting design, cuts/fills, earthwork quantities, erosion and sedimentation control design and permitting;

Perform routine aspects of engineering requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles under close supervision;

Utilize computer-assisted engineering software and equipment to perform engineering tasks and design projects;

Review of code information to determine impact on designs; and

Perform field assignments for data collection, site reconnaissance, and construction observation and documentation;

Assisting in the coordination of projects from conception (feasibility) through final plan preparations; and

Providing support to engineering staff members as needed.

Qualified applicants should possess all or some of the following:

Enrolled in a Civil Engineering Program and have completed at least 1 full year;

Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities;

Demonstrates ability to follow direction and work in a team environment;

Excellent communication skills; and

Working knowledge of computers and AutoCAD (desired).
